| 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful  No Offense Colby . . . ., This review is from: ASUS Essentio CM6730-US-2AD Desktop (Personal Computers) But it sounds like you are a hobbiest that has little to know clue about how to work on computers or how to run a proper diagnostics. More than likely, you got a defective hard drive. It happens, get over it, RMA it and move on. This machine is not intended or designed to run as you have described, that should have been your first hint . . . .As for anyone else reading this review. Asus puts out great products, every once in a while, you will get a dud, it happens to all electronics. Keep in mind that the floods in Taiwan has caused a lot of issues for hard drive manufactures and they have had to outsource their drive manufacturing else where. This causes inconsistencies in quality and there is nothing that ASUS or any other manufacture can do about it. This is what your warranty is for. It only operates at the same speed as the 5 year old Dell it replaced. It is advertised as a great platform for HD, 3D, gaming and multimedia. That is FALSE. The graphics system needs to be upgraded since the on board one can't handle even basic mouse movements without jerking. I don't run games, but this computer won't even scroll through a short webpage without problems so you can forget about anything that is graphics intensive.The 1 tb hard drive is enough for a couple programs, but after running a system backup, that is all used up. In order to install a 2nd hard drive, it is necessary to remove the CPU fan. The CPU fan that comes with the computer is inadequate, and the computer would intermittently shut down due to overheating. I needed to replace the CPU fan with a new one that can handle the load.
